What can be detected by a CT scan with contrast agent?
CT scan is a technology that uses computer-processed X-rays to produce tomographic images of the body to allow the doctor to observe organ shapes confirming whether lesions exist. It takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Precautions to be taken before CT Scan
Please notify our staff beforehand if you have or have ever had the following cases.
- 1. You have a history of allergic reactions after the use of certain medications.
- 2. You have a history of feeling ill after taking certain medication or after being put on a drip.
- 3. You have a history of getting zits or becoming hard to breathe or feeling dizzy after a treatment.
- 4. There is a possibility of being pregnant.
- 5. If you are presently breastfeeding and have used contrast agent during the CT scan, please do not feed your baby within 48 hours after the test.
- 6. You may drink some water or tea.
- 7. On the day of the test, there are some restrictions on food shown below for the people who will have an abdominal CT scan and who will use contrast agent during the test.

The test scheduled for CT scan after noon: Breakfast is ok, but no lunch please. - 2. Right before the examination, please discharge your urine and take off your watch, necklace and so on.
- 3. If contrast agent is used, a needle for injection will be fixed on your arm.
- 4. The attending nurse will guide you to the examination room.
- 5. Our staff in charge will give you some related instructions at the examination room.
- 6. Please lie at the designated site of the CT scan machine.
- 7. In the middle of the examination, our staff will introduce the use of contrast agent to you. You will not feel pain while injecting, but please do not hesitate to tell our staff in charge immediately if you feel bad.
- 8. You need to hold your breath while pictures taking, so please follow the sign from our staff in charge.
- 9. The examination takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
- 10. Our staff will notify you when the examination is finished.
After the CT Scan
No special restrictions.
