Dr. Toyama, who completed his training and practiced cardiovascular surgery over ten years in the United States, established this Department in 1983. All doctors in this department and their co-workers live nearby and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This department consists of 5-6 staff surgeons and residents to see elective surgical patients and emergency surgery patients. Our main activity is to provide surgical care to patients with ischemic heart disease, valvular disease, aortic disease and other cardio vascular diseases. We perform coronary artery bypass surgery without cardiopulmonary bypass, mitral valve reparative surgery, the aortic aneurysm surgery and special arrhythmia surgery such as Maze ? operations for chronic atrial fibrillation.
